Our Business Risk Services (BRS) practice focuses on helping organisation manage risk, improve operational processes and realise strategic objectives. Our team combines a diverse range of skills and experience across various sector specialisms. Due to the continued growth and success of our BRS team, we are seeking a Senior Manager with a focus on ESG People & Culture to join us. We are looking for an experienced individual with a proven track record to support our clients in delivering ESG assurance and internal audit engagements.

A look into the role

As a Business Risk Internal Audit ESG People & Culture Senior Manager within our BRS, you will:

  • Support our clients in delivering internal audit and assurance engagements, working with a range of large, complex organisations across all industries

  • Experience of managing internal audits of large companies in addition to dealing with complex technical matters

  • Develop client relationships and lead ESG, People & Culture reviews and programmes, with responsibility for the overall engagement lifecycle and leading team members from planning and risk assessments through to testing and reporting on the effectiveness of controls across the subject matter.

  • Contribute to the continued growth of BRS, this role also will include working with Partners and Directors to develop opportunities and win work.

  • Maintain oversight of quality assurance. We pride ourselves on the high-level standards we have for the work that we do. 

  • Take responsibility for developing more junior team members, proactively understanding their career aspiration and support in this delivery.

  • Working on cross line of service reviews across the wider practice and across Grant Thornton developing collateral and go to markets insights to support our growth agenda.

  • Supporting BRS senior leadership team on non ESG, People and Culture reviews and managing a portfolio of clients.

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as a Business Risk Internal Audit ESG People & Culture Senior Manager r, the minimum criteria you’ll need is a proven track record of leading reviews across ESG, People and culture agendas. This includes developing audit briefs (including new topics), driving and leading fieldwork, and managing the presentation and preparation of reports through to successful completion.  Additionally, you should have experience in developing and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships and hold a relevant professional qualification (ACA, ICAS, CA, ACCA or CIPFA).

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Professional practice experience, with a track record of manging a portfolio of clients, leading client engagements (and ensuring their effective completion/quality.

  • Leadership of multidisciplinary teams and oversight and development of team members

  • Demonstrable experience of leading and supporting business development/winning of new work

  • Able to build extensive and active internal networks which crosses geographical and client service boundaries and contributes to this network to enable others to share their knowledge.

  • Experience of delivery of presentations and leading client liaison meetings.
