Our award-winning advisory practice supports organisations at every stage of the business cycle, through two core business areas.

  • Core advisory, led by Giles Mullins, encompasses Business Risk Services, Consulting, Cyber Advisory, Economic Consulting, FAAS, Financial Services Advisory and Valuations & Modelling
  • Transactions Advisory and IF&R, led by Keely Woodly supports clients through Corporate Finance Advisory, Forensics, Insolvency, Restructuring and Transaction Advisory Services

Business consulting (BC) is a market leading change advisory practice. Our team support businesses to reduce their costs, refine pricing strategies and enhance their margins. We use sophisticated data analytics and a problem-solving mindset to help clients make substantial, data-informed decisions which result in improved business performance. 

Our team combine strong financial skills with practical operational experience to support businesses, to identify their financial weaknesses and create plans to drive profitability. We pride ourselves on working ‘with the client’ and not doing the project ‘to the client’, enabling knowledge sharing, smooth and impactful implementation, and quicker result.

Our corporate finance advisory team provide advice to a wide range of clients, with a focus on mid-sized companies, shareholders, management teams and private equity businesses. In 2023 our award-winning teams completed 2016 deals, with a cumulative value of £8.1bn.

Our teams build relationships with our clients and become trusted advisors so that we can help them to identify transactions that will facilitate their growth plans, including selling and buying businesses, through to raising debt and equity capital for growth. Whilst our teams have a regional focus, we are a national M&A team led by 18 partners and 15 directors, with an international member firm network of experienced teams who we collaborate with regularly.

Complex, high stakes forensic and investigation matters require recognised and trusted professionals to deliver diverse solutions. Our forensic team incorporates disputes, investigations, contentious valuations, digital forensics, cyber, structured data analytics, corporate intelligence, and corporate compliance capabilities.

Cyber crime will cost the global economy USD 6 trillion this year, as cyber attacks become more common and sophisticated. And as businesses increasingly use digital technologies to enable business operations or enhance customer engagement, they have become more exposed to attack.

Our insolvency team navigates complex, distressed situations such as fraud, regulatory breaches or international issues, providing diverse global solutions for insolvency and asset recovery across all major onshore and offshore jurisdictions. Our teams have recovered assets from 65 jurisdictions to the value of $4.0bn.

Our enterprise applications (EA) practice started in 2019 after we spotted a gap in the market with our existing clients, led by Mark O’Sullivan, Partner and Head of Technology and Digital Services. 

Our core focus is on advisory and project implementation services related to Oracle cloud applications and technology. We also provide enterprise resource planning (ERP) / human capital management (HCM) applications and advisory consultancy more generally.

 

The transaction advisory services team helps our clients to drive growth through transformational change. We provide a broad range of advisory services to clients within a deals environment, including financial due diligence, tax due diligence, commercial due diligence and SPA advisory. We are a high performing national team of 180 individuals, led by 14 partners and 22 directors.

We attract and retain great talent because we have the breadth to deliver a high quality, full service offering to our clients whilst also providing personalised support for our people to ensure they can progress their career in the direction that works for them.

Our restructuring practice works with lenders, investors, and management teams with expertise in financial restructuring, contingency planning, restructuring solutions and insolvency services.
