A brighter economic outlook suggests the rest of the year will be busy for the M&A market. You can learn about the recent deal activity and trends in your sector with our expert industry analysis.

M&A activity varied across the market in the first half of 2024. Technology, media and telecoms (TMT) deal volumes remained steady, while consumer sectors saw strong investor appetite for travel, as well as healthy food and beverage deals,  despite the continuing impact of the cost-of-living crisis.

The economic and political changes in the first half of 2024 are expected to support a positive impact on deal activity. While there’s speculation about the impact of potential tax-policy changes by the new Government on the deals market, the overriding sense of post-election political stability brings welcome optimism to the market, with increased momentum expected in H2 and into 2025.
