A half-day workshop to set you up for long-term success
As a CFO today, your responsibilities go beyond cost control – you are a strategic leader involved in everything from people matters to data quality to ESG strategy.
Unfortunately, the expanding scope of the role doesn't come with more hours in the day to manage these competing demands.
The CFO Room one-to-one workshop offers CFOs, Finance Directors and other finance leaders a dedicated space with our team to step back from day-to-day operations and transform your long list of tasks, opportunities and problems into a methodical 180-day personal action plan.
"I attended a CFO Room when I took up a new position, and it was invaluable. It made me look at aspects of my role very differently - to really think about my stakeholders and what I needed to focus on - and helped me to clear my head and rationalise my plans. I would recommend it to any CFO in a new role."
Ciara Allan, CFO, Woven Group Companies
Is the CFO room right for you?
CFOs, FDs and Finance leaders at all levels facing competing priorities can benefit from the CFO room. Whether you're new to role and need a roadmap for your first six months or are established in your role and looking to drive change, the workshop will be tailored to your specific needs.
"My CFO colleague recommended Grant Thornton’s CFO Room to me as ‘time you won't get anywhere else, at a quality you won't get anywhere else’ - and it met those expectations. It was very structured, concentrated 'me time' that made me rethink areas I hadn't been prioritising."
Crispin Holder, Group Finance Director, Naked Wines PLC
What will you gain from the CFO room?
-
Step 1: Define your reference points
What are the hopes, fears and legacy for your role? What do your stakeholders expect from you? We’ll use these questions as a foundation for discussion.
-
Step 2: Identify priorities and how to deliver against them
Do your priorities align with your reference points and the current business strategy? We'll help you step back from firefighting and getting caught in the details to prioritise areas that lead to your goals.
We'll also help you organise these priorities into manageable themes for confident delivery.
-
Step 3: Gain talent and stakeholder support
From star performers to potential barriers, we'll challenge you to evaluate your team and stakeholders, identifying gaps and assessing their impact on your own effectiveness.
We'll help you to identify actions you can take to leverage strengths further or address gaps to help your finance function progress.
-
Step 4: Build your initiatives and a 180-day plan
Based on our discussions, we'll help you to develop a thorough action plan that takes into account constraints and key events you’ve shared and is aligned with your most important challenges and opportunities.
This is your 6-month roadmap -and we will follow up with you regularly after the CFO Room to check in on your progress.
