I have 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, with 20 at Grant Thornton. I've been involved in a range of assignments for regulated firms, focusing primarily on how they treat their retail customers. Some of my largest projects have involved oversight of large and complex remediation projects on pensions, investments, and consumer finance products. Many of my client engagements have been Skilled Person Reviews.
I've also taken interim roles with financial services companies and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
In the last few years, I've had an increased interest and focus on the retail lending market, where my clients are typically mortgage lenders and brokers, as well as the full range of consumer finance firms that fall under FCA regulation. I speak at industry events and host conduct-risk related working groups. I've also taken on Individual Skilled Person responsibility on reviews in the retail-lending sector.
My clients range from the largest high street banks to small specialist lenders, and I believe that breadth of experience allows me to offer genuine industry insight and an understanding of the regulator’s expectations. Clients tell me that I'm straight talking and easy to work with.
When not working, I enjoy travelling and socialising with family and friends. I enjoy watching all sports and am a keen golfer when time allows.
