Karen Hancox

I have more than 20 years’ experience in the pensions sector and lead the North West pensions team.  I have specialised in the delivery of pension scheme audits since 2006. Before moving into audit, I worked for a large third party pensions administrator, so have added insight into how an administration function operates.

Our wider pensions team includes both audit and advisory specialists and offers a wide range of services to the sector including audit and assurance, employer covenant assessment, actuarial and benefits, tax, cyber security, governance and risk, and trustee training.

I am passionate about delivering an audit and assurance service that adds value to trustee governance processes in support of the 21st Century Trusteeship initiative from The Pensions Regulator, rather than just a minimum compliance ‘tick box’ service. I am proactive in my communications style, which means I act as a driver to ensuring our deliver remains a success. 

We support our trustee clients via proactive lines of communication and a high quality tailored audit approach with a flexible audit scope to ensure key risks are addressed. Trustees really value the added insight we can bring from our depth and breadth of knowledge gained from our position in the sector.

Our national team acts as scheme auditor for over 500 pension schemes, including over 50 with assets between £1 billion and £40 billion, representing some of the largest and most complex schemes in the UK.

I have two children and we enjoy walking, camping, and visiting historical buildings.
