I specialise in providing audit, assurance and financial reporting services to businesses in the financial services sector. Over the years I've been involved in progressing the profession's thinking on industry sector issues, having represented the firm on working parties with the financial regulators and the Bank of England at both UK and European level, and with industry bodies such as the AIC and the IMA. Latterly I was a member of the ICAEW banking committee.
With extensive experience in all aspects of financial reporting and assurance, I have audited more than 40 listed companies – including the largest investment company IPO in recent years – and have worked with some of the larger investment houses on accounting and financial reporting matters arising from their fund product range under UK GAAP and IFRS. I led the Grant Thornton team appointed as auditors to the largest UK-authorised fund launch ever in the UK and recently have represented the firm on the working party established by the Financial Reporting Council to improve professional standards around CASS reporting.
Away from the office I'm a keen cricketer, having recently qualified as an ECB level 2 coach alongside coaches from the Middlesex CCC academy. I help with the finances and accounting at a large premier league cricket club in North London, and sit on the audit and risk committee of Rugby School.
