I'm a tax director specialising in providing corporate and international tax advice to groups investing into the UK market or expanding overseas.
Due to the international nature of my role, I work day-to-day with Grant Thornton's international member firms to ensure that my clients receive excellent service in each territory – acting as a bridge to ensure high quality tax, audit, and advisory service delivery.
I have over 10 years’ experience in supporting clients with in-bound and out-bound corporate tax issues, including international tax structuring, repatriation of funds and withholding tax mitigation, managing tax residency and permanent establishment risks, transactions, and tax governance and risk compliance.
I work with a mix of client ownership structures – from publicly listed groups, international private equity, UK owner-managed businesses, and public sector organisations. I support clients across multiple sectors including energy, healthcare, technology/software, automotive, retail, manufacturing, education and not-for-profit.
I also lead part of our ESG Supply Chain Centre of Excellence where I advise clients on the tax impact of their supply chain and any restructuring that they make as a result of their commercial and ESG strategies.
I most enjoy helping clients achieve their international growth plans and in doing so, mitigating unintended tax issues which can arise through incorrect implementation. I regularly see similar fact patterns and can use my experience to ensure any issues are identified prior to expansion or a prospective sale.
Outside of work, I live in Manchester with my wife, dog, cat, and koi carp. I enjoy dog-walking, travelling, and playing sports, including football (I'm a Man City fan!), golf, and squash. I also enjoy watching American football and ice hockey.
