Grant Thornton are delighted to have advised Creative Care to Consensus on their sale to Consensus Support Services.

Creative Care is a leading provider of high-quality specialist care to adults with autism, learning disabilities and other complex needs in the East Midlands.

Creative Care has delivered strong growth under a management team led by Ian Coldrick, establishing itself as the provider of choice in the East Midlands. It has achieved this through adding new services and a sustained focus on delivering high quality person-centred care across a well-invested portfolio.

After a period in partnership with Spring Ventures, the business will continue its next stage of growth under the new ownership of Consensus Support Services. This will include the expansion of its current residential care service provision into Supported Living.

The Corporate Finance team, led by Peter Jennings, provided dedicated pre-marketing support to Creative Care, working closely with management to position the business for sale and utilising their in-depth knowledge of the sector and buyer landscape to advise on the right time to launch a process.

A competitive process was conducted, leading to significant interest from both strategic trade buyers and private equity investors. Due to a strong alignment of values and a shared commitment to quality, Consensus was selected as the most suitable strategic partner for the business.

Grant Thornton leveraged a cross-service line approach with Corporate Finance and Tax teams working together to deliver a smooth, controlled process through to completion.

“ Thank you to Peter, Niall and the Grant Thornton team for the integral role they played in achieving a successful outcome. The team provided invaluable early support in preparing the business for sale, before driving the transaction to completion through hands-on, cross-service support”
