Armstrong Massey is a long-standing audit and tax client. Established at the site in York in 1998, Armstrong Massey Land Rover has built a strong local brand based on long-standing family values.
The Armstrong Massey Group consisted of the Land Rover dealership, including the site and property, a used car dealership based in Driffield, and various legacy investment properties; of these, the Land Rover dealership (excluding the site and property) were included in the sale.
We advised Armstrong Massey throughout the process, liaising closely with Jaguar Land Rover as a key stakeholder in the transaction. Our broader role included presenting the business to an approved list of potential buyers, leading negotiations, co-ordinating seamlessly with our tax advisory and project managing the transaction to completion in line with the agreed timetable.
We maximised value for the shareholders by optimising the proposed deal structure and working closely with Armstrong Massey and the acquirer to ensure a seamless transition for employees into new ownership. Our close relationship with Jaguar Land Rover and experience in the sector enabled the appropriate clearances and approvals to be obtained on a timely basis, ensuring a smooth transaction process.
