Checkmate Fire Solutions Limited was established in 1989 and is headquartered in West Yorkshire. Checkmate has operations across the UK, deploying over 200 employees in around 2,000 building nationally across Healthcare, Education, Government, Social Housing and Commercial sectors. 

Checkmate are a high-quality passive fire protection specialist, who inspect, install, remediate and maintain passive fire systems and also provide installation and maintenance of active fire services. 

Over the last five years Checkmate has built up an expansive service offering and with further investment, the intention is to develop upon their position as the UK’s leading passive fire market specialist.

Our Corporate Finance team worked closely with IK Investment Partners to understand their ambitions for the transaction and a future exit. IK Partners appointed Grant Thornton due to their in-depth market knowledge and extensive network. 

Our team developed a comprehensive exit review, including a competitor benchmarking analysis, identified potential M&A targets and buyers and potential exit options, working to a tight timeline and successfully deliver to schedule. Our Corporate Finance were delighted to have been selected as advisor due to our proprietary sector knowledge.
