I'm a CFA charter-holder with over a decade of modelling experience, and a particular focus on decision support and insolvency modelling. Previously I've worked in industry as a finance manager, and as a consultant in valuations and business modelling at the Big 4.
Helping clients make both strategic and routine decisions through creating transparent and flexible models is what I'm most passionate about. I particularly enjoy tackling the niche problems they deal with regularly, such as central cost allocation, investment appraisal and business change assessment. I believe a holistic approach is key to successful quantification of a given problem – looking at financial, operational, and other data sources rather than financials alone. When developing a model, I also support clients with data mapping to ensure they make the best use of the existing system and data resources.
My other main focus is analysing hypothetical insolvency proceedings and you'll often find me working alongside our restructuring team to support them with entity priority modelling (EPM). Many organisations I work with consist of multiple entities and have a complex security structure. I add value by applying a thorough data reconciliation, fund and claim categorisation, and an iterative approach to the analysis, which produces robust and credible outputs.
Outside of work, my two cheeky daughters keep me and my husband very busy and entertained. I've recently started learning some basic DJ techniques as all four of us really enjoy good music. Going for long country walks, playing tennis, and reading detective novels helps me unwind after work. I'm also a keen baker and love to experiment, with ‘Jo’s rum cake’ being my signature cake recipe.
